NFPA urges focus on fire safety for college students returning to school
September 2, 2010 - The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) urges students returning to campuses around the country and their parents to take the time to educate themselves on life-saving fire safety information. Thousands of fires occur each year in both on- and off-campus housing, many of which could have been easily prevented.
Fire Protection Research Foundation and NFPA to host Dust Explosion Hazard and Control Symposium
August 27, 2010 - The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and The Fire Protection Research Foundation, an affiliate of the NFPA, will be hosting a two-day long symposium on New Strategies for Dust Explosion Hazard and Control, set to take place on October 20 and 21 at Embassy Suites Kansas City-Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri.

August 26, 2010 - The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) today announced a joint effort with Chevrolet and OnStar as NFPA provides electric vehicle safety training for first responders to the scene of an accident. The announcement was made at the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Fire-Rescue International Conference in Chicago where Chevrolet and OnStar demonstrated safety techniques on the all-new 2011 Chevrolet Volt – an electric vehicle with extended-range that will be on sale late this year.
