On Wed Sept 1, 2010, Sgt. Earle Smith from the Orange County Sheriff's Department drove up to the Tillson Firehouse to thank the firefighters first hand for saving his life by rescuing him from his mountain bike accident on top of the mountain in back of Larsen's farm. The video below shows Sgt. Smith telling this amazing rescue story while thanking the firefighters first hand at the firehouse. There is a short video clip of the scene that night at the end. County Execuutive Michael Hein will be presenting an award to these firefighters for their extreme efforts in this rescue . The presentation will take place at our company picnic on October 16th, 2010 at the firehouse.

BAILOUT DRILL AT ULSTER COUNTY FIRE TRAINING CENTER: On Sunday Sept 12th, we will be going to the Ulster County Fire Training Center in East Kingston for a drill on bailing out of multi-level buildings using safety ropes, ladders, and anything else that you may find available at a fire scene. We may also use the interior fire simulator if time exists. Will most likley leave our firehouse around 8AM but the exact time has not as yet been set.
The third annual golf tournament on Sept. 18, 2010 at the New Paltz Golf Course. The format will be a scramble and will start at 8:30am. All levels of talent are welcome!! Teams will be made up of four golfers. Should you not be able to field a full team, partials will be accepted. More than one team IS allowed per organization. The entry fee is till only $85.00 per golfer. Your fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, prizes, continental breakfast, and lunch at the course. Awards will be presented during lunch. Beer, soda, and water will be available on the course. We hope you will join us in what's sure to be a great day of golf and also a day to make new friends and enjoy old ones as well.
