Notice from Fire Marshal's Office!!
Recent changes in New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Law prohibit the burning of any material other than tree limbs (maximum diameter of 6 inches) and UNTREATED WOOD (NOT chemically treated, coated, stained, sealed, glued or otherwise adulterated wood, and NOT pressure treated lumber, plywood, particle board, fiberboard or oriented strand board). This means that leaves, paper, and household garbage MAY NOT BE BURNED.
Residents are also reminded that ALL OPEN BURNING within the Town requires a Burn Permit, which can be secured by contacting the Fire Marshal.
